The Center for American Jewish History at New York University

In September 2003 the Foundation endowed the establishment of the Center for American Jewish History at New York University. The Center’s proposed main activities will be:

– Research and publish a series of books about the history and role of Jews in Ameican life and culture.
– Organize conferences at regular intervals to bring together scholars around a specific topic to exchange ideas, increase knowledge and lay the groundwork for future books in the series.
– Educate and train graduate students in Hebrew and Judaic Studies and American History, with the hope that they will become future scholars and authors in this field.
